Ribbons, Pearls and some Flutterby's too.

Bought some new card during the week so thought I should try it out before buying any more it's from a company I had not heard of before called eco-craft I have to say I was impressed with it so will be making another purchase very soon. The papers are from a paper pack from a craft magazine they are called 'webster's pages' a new company to me. I have used some lush pink velvet ribbon and a satin trimmed organza ribbon. Finished off with some flutterby's and pearls.

Birthday Wishes

I had a go at making a flower out of punched hearts this is the first one I have attempted to make. I used water colour card then coloured with Aquamarkers I then punched out three butterfly's and again used Aquamarkers to colour them before adding some little metallic gems. I finished the card with some purple ribbon. The sentiment was printed on to the card by computer.

Cardmadfairy's Digi Days - Buttons

This weeks challenge over at Carmadfairy's Digi Days is BUTTONS always very versatile you can use one or lots just depends how inventive you are with your design. For my card I used just one button. The digital image I used is from Cardmadfairy's Creations called 'Daisies' the digital image has three daisies in a row I chose to print it out on to watercolour paper then cut it down to size so that there is only one central daisy and a half daisy on either side. I water coloured the daisies added a button, a sentiment, a strip of pink and a strip of green ribbon and finished off with three tiny gems.

BIRTHDAY CARD FOR CLAIRE

As Claire's birthday was at the beginning of the month I can now safely add her birthday card to my blog.  The freesia flower is a digi image coloured with promarker pens. The flower is made from the same trim along the bottom of the card. There is some significance to the trim I hope for Claire it will remind her of a very special few days last year. Yellow gems were used to help bring out the yellow in the middle of the flowers.

CARD FOR MY BEAUTIFUL MUM

Now that Mum has her card I can now put it on my blog. The stamp is by Anna Griffin I used my new Aqua Markers to colour the image. The paper is Dovecraft 'Sugar & Spice' To finish I added some blue crossgrain ribbon, satin butterflies with coloured gems added to the body and finally some little pink pearls to finish.

A SIMPLE BIRTHDAY CARD

 

Needed a birthday card the other week but decided to keep it simple. I stamped a flower on to spotted paper coloured around the edges and added some definition before cutting out the layers then finished the flower with a flat bead in the centre. I added some matching ribbon, pearls and sentiment.

For my own card I used two of Jenni's digi images 'Poppies' and 'Flower 1' the Poppies image was printed on card then distressed around the edges before inking with silver I coloured just a couple of areas on the black and white image. I then printed out the Flower 1 image twice in two sizes then cut out a large flower and a smaller flower for the inside of the larger flower. I used my trusted Promarkers to colour the flower added some pearls and a shell button. I cut out the second larger flower coloured and again used pearls but I only used three of the petals and placed them down the right side of the Poppies image. I embossed a piece of cordinations card with butterflies sanded and rubbed over with silver ink. Black lace was added down one side. To finish I added a sentiment 'Smile it makes people wonder what you've been up to!'

I have to admit I struggled with this one the felt heart was plain but I punched holes and threaded through white ribbon added two pins and a ribbon flower it wasn't quite how I had envisaged it would turn out but didn't have time to do anything else. The pieces of felt I punched out I stuck along the bottom to try to even it up not so sure that worked either! As all we crafters know there are just some projects where no matter what you do it just does not come together!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Over at ONE STITCH AT A TIME it's time for a new challenge this week it is tied in with Operation Write Home the Theme is "Happy Birthday" all the details about Operation Write Home is on the blog.

For the image on my card I have used "Bear with Sparkler" by Beary Dust from STITCHY BEAR & I DID IT CREATIONS CRAFTING BOUTIQUE the papers are My Minds Eye and the ribbons are from John Lewis I was lucky enough to get them in their summer sale. The pink ribbon I did by putting a strip of sticky tape down the middle of the larger ribbon and twisting and turning the ribbon as I stuck it to the sticky tape. Very simple to do and quite effective I think. The silver Butterfly was purchased from Crafty Emma's Store. I finished off the card by drawing freehand lines around the edge of the card.

LOAD OF CAKE !

I had a birthday card to make before I go off on holiday I used an image called 'Load of Cake' it's a nice fun image I'm hoping the recipient will have a laugh when she takes it out the envelope it's the first image I have bought from SASSY CHERYL'S there are loads of great images there I'll definitely be back.
It is also the first time I have managed to put a watermark on my photo it took me all afternoon but I got there in the end the only question now is will I be able to remember what I did the next time I upload a photo!

One of my favourite things is the elephant I would love to see them in the wild I really hate to see them in Zoo's they should be free to roam huge areas of land in big family groups. Anyway a work colleague of mine has a big birthday next week she absolutely adores elephants so much so she and her hubby go to Africa every December for around five to six weeks to walk and watch the elephants how lucky is she! The Digi Image is one from TIFFANY DOODLES called African Elephant I have coloured it with Promarkers. To glitz it up a bit I have added beading around the edge and pearls in the centre of the punched flowers.  Well that's one of my favourite things I can't wait to see what your own favourite things might be. ONE STITCH AT A TIME CHALLENGE #24

This week the challenge is a sketch with the added option of using PINK on your project.
The Prizes this week are from our sponsors HOBBY HABITAT  and SEW MANY CARDS

The digi image is 'Duncan the Duckling in Umbrella' from SEW MANY CARDS I have coloured him with my Promarkers and then threaded beads on to a wire, wrapped them around the image and then secured with an assortment of pink brads. I also tied some narrow pink satin ribbon at various intervals around the wire. The base card is coredinations card with one end embossed, sanded and jelly roll pen added to the centre of the daisy's and dots.
Once again the DT have all been very busy and there is loads of inspiration for you to look at on the  ONE STICH AT A TIME Challenge Blog it would be great if you decide to play along on our latest challenge.

BIRTHDAY CARD FOR KATE

This is a quick birthday card for my niece it's been a busy weekend one way and another so it had to be a quick card so that I could get it finished in time to take it with me to post on the way to work tomorrow hopefully it will arrive on time!

I used my new stamp from Little Claire Designs I love it a cupcake tree ... if only they really did exist :)
I also used my new indentz embossing folder I had not heard of this company before but they were selling them at the Little Claire Designs stall at the stamp fair last week. I've used it with coredinations card and only sanded the sentiment at the bottom so that it stands out, I went over the 'Happy Birthday' with white pen to help it stand out a little more. The pink paper is from 'My Minds Eye' To finish off I used three flowers I made for another project, these three flowers fell off so I have reused them on this card ... waste not want not! I've made sure they will stay put on the card :)

Well three post's in one day can't be bad!

DT CALL CARD FOR ONE STITCH AT A TIME

This is my card for the DT call over at ONE STITCH AT A TIME using one of Stitchys new releases called Sparkles. There are lots of little sparkles on the card but the camera has not picked them up. I think 'Sparkles'  is quite funky I hope you do too.

BIRTHDAY CARD FOR MUM

A birthday card for my lovely Mum. Again I have used white hammered card and cut a circle from pink coredinations card and embossed with my daisy folder. I sanded the embossing, wrapped yellow ribbon around the middle, added flowers to the top half and pearls to the bottom half and then stuck some tiny butterfly's in between the yellow ribbon. I stuck larger butterflys punched from Basic Grey paper on to lace raffia adding pearls to the head of the butterfly's then finished off with pink and yellow ribbons and a Stampin Up! sentiment stamp.

BIRTHDAY CARD FOR HAZEL

This is a card for my Sister in Law I have used white hammered card with pink coredinations card. I used my Daisy embossing folder then sanded the top left corner and around the edge I stuck some pearls to the sanded daisies added a punched and coloured butterfly some flowers, brad and ribbon from my stash and finished of with a Stampin Up sentiment stamp "You're a wonderful reason to celebrate!"
