With Love

It's been a while since I posted anything on the blog my mojo has been AWOL for the last few weeks and any motivation to make cards has just not been there part of the reason I think is because I retired from  my DT posts at Christmas time to give me some time to try to move forward with a little business plan I have in mind. I always found being part of a DT was great for getting the old creative juices flowing.  I really wanted to make a card for a friend who had a birthday this week but time ran away from me I didn't get it done in time to post out. However I finished my card today and decided it would  make a nice card for Valentines Day or just a card for someone special. Once again I have used one of my favourite digi images from Jenni at Cardmadfairy Creations to make the buttons stand out this time I have used glitter glue and Glossy Accents to give some dimension after colouring each button with Promarkers. I let the glitter glue and Glossy Accents dry overnight befoer cutting out the digi image. The papers used are papers I have had in my craft stash for ever but the ribbon is one I bought from Lewis's I just happened to be passing the ribbon counter when this one and a silver version fell in to my basket :) The gems were also from my craft stash.

I decided to make Mum and Dad's Anniversary card with a bit of humour this year and this digi image from Bugaboo Digi Stamps certainly does that. Hopefully it will give them a laugh!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

This is my Anniversary card for my Mum and Dad it was taken on their wedding day in 1952 it was a black and white photo which I scanned and gave it a sepia tone. This is the first time I have scanned anything I only worked out how to use a scanner yesterday. Unfortunately the card kept moving I think it was the pearls which were making it slide on the glass so the bottom of the card is slightly out of focus I will have to practice a bit more!

I am entering my card for the Lots To Do Challenge - Ribbons & Lace

Happy Anniversary Mum and Dad

I can't believe Mum and Dad celebrate their fifty sixth wedding anniversary this week, seems like such a long time for two people to be together especially these days when couples don't seem to stay together for any length of time, well done Mum and Dad!
The backing paper is from Laura Ashley Traditional papers. The stamp is a Penny Black "love blush" Penny Black are one of my favourite stamps of the moment. I used shimmer chalk to colour the stamped image. The colours in the card have come out darker than they really are, the backing paper is a nice shade of green.
I think I might enter this card for the Crafting Corner August Card Challenge you are to use ribbon, sentiment and a stamped image. I think my card just about covers everything required ... excellent.

Happy 30th Wedding Anniversary Avril

I can't believe my sister celebrated her 30th wedding anniversary last week, it seems like she just got married yesterday. For her card I used Basic Grey two scoops paper with a white cloud vellum jacket. Some heart ribbon down the left hand side of the card. I have glued three pearl hearts to the ribbon then using another Penny Black stamp called garden poems stamped onto the vellum using black Stazon ink. I finished off by putting a black rub on sentiment across the bottom of the stamped image then added 30 to the leaves on the middle flower. I hope she liked it.

25th Wedding Anniversary Card

I was asked to make a 25th Wedding Anniversary card for a friend of my son. I used a paper mania paper with a vellum white cloud jacket over the top. I made my own topper from elements I had and used a sheer ribbon down the side of the card. Fortunately the card looks much better when you see the real thing. I didn't go for the usual all silver card and I am not so sure this has worked. I do find it is much easier to make cards for people I know or at least when the person ordering the card gives me a wee clue to the recipient's taste which didn't happen in this case.
