YOU ROCK

It's a wee while since I have posted I'm busy with life in general and my niece's wedding stationery in particular which is coming on just waiting on the bride-to-be to see what I have done I should then be able to go and buy all the card etc next weekend then when everything is finalised it will be all systems go.

However, I did have time to make a birthday card for my nephew yesterday he is busy learning to play the electric guitar. Like his dad he loves Heavy Metal and last year he went to see his very first rock concert with his favourite band KISS so I downloaded a picture from the web and used some brilliant digis from Jenni at CARDMADFAIRY'S CREATIONS  the guitarist is called 'ZAC' the sentiment is from the same set. My nephew's birthday is not until the end of the month but as he doesn't have access to my blog he shouldn't see his card until he opens it on his birthday.

Hugs

SK8R BOY

This is my very first go at an easel card it's a birthday card for my nephew who has recently started skateboarding with his big brother. The image is a fabulous digi image by Jenni at CARD MAD FAIRYS CREATIONS called 'Joey' and it was only 99p a bargain!

I backed the easel card with some free paper I got a couple of years ago from a craft magazine. The paper has a distressed effect which I thought fitted. I then downloaded a Graffiti font from the web and typed some words to do with skateboarding which I had to look for on the web as I hadn't a clue! then printed it off on to the backing paper. Joey is coloured with my Pro-Markers cut out and stuck to the card with sticky pads. The skateboard on the bottom of the card was printed from the web then cut out and stuck down with foam pads to give a little height. I then printed a band of SK8R BOY using the same font as before. I finished off by inking around the edge of the card with black ink.

MAGICAL CRAFTS CHALLENGE # 16

Challenge #16 over at MAGICAL CRAFTS is 'Metal Madness' we would like to see metal on your project or you can make your project out of metal, use metallic card anything as long as there is metal involved somewhere on your project. Our sponsor for challenge #16 is SIMON SAYS STAMP! pop over to  Magical Crafts to find out all the details. The DT have come up with some great inspiration for the challenge.

My card was made especially for my Hubby who is into birds. The image is from tiffany doodles a fabulous site for digi images Tiffany is one very talented lady.  It is a very simple card I did not want to detract from the digi image so have left it black and white. I have had the papers for a year or two I have lost the front sheet of the paper pack and can't remember who the paper is by but it is a set of papers I have used many times before.  The metal is a strip of light aluminium from an old embossing kit I ran it through my cuttlebug using one of the cuttlebug embossing folders.
I hope you will have a look at the projects the other DT members have created there are some great ideas!

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog.

MAGICAL CRAFTS CHALLENGE # 12

Magical Crafts Challenge #12 is 'Animal Antics' we want to see animals on you projects, cute, furry, feathery, funny even the ugly! what ever you want to use. Remember we are a multi craft challenge blog so we like to see any craft technique as long as you stick to the theme.

Our sponsor this time is our monthly sponsor SIMON SAYS STAMP. The winner will receive $10 to spend in the Simon Says Stamp store and p&p paid for so why not pop over to MAGICAL CRAFTS  and see what the DT have come up with. It would be great if you would join in too we always enjoy seeing what you come up with and visiting all your fab blogs.

This is my take on our Animal Antics theme. This was not the project I had originally intended but as all  crafters will be well aware things don't always work out as planned. With little time left to make something for this challenge this card is what I finally came up with. The stamp used is from Elusive Designs and the cat is from a little pack I purchased in John Lewis.  The card has been embossed then either inked or sanded. The surprised look on the cat's face is the reason for the sentiment "Your how old!"  It's a fairly simple card but it works for me and I have someone in mind to give it to when their birthday comes round.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog it is always very much appreciated.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAMIE

My lovely wee nephew is about to turn five. He loves dressing up so I have made a birthday card with a pirate theme. The paper and decoupage pirate were free papers from Papercraft Essentials during the summer. I finished the card by adding a greeting and some stick on anchors, added a few inked seagulls then drew some faux gold stiches around the edge of the card.

Happy Birthday Paul

I don't know about you but I find it very difficult doing cards for men. I tried for ages this afternoon to come up with something nothing seemed to work so I am left with this card. The colour is slightly pinkish in the photo but ist's actually a deep red. The papers are Cosmo Cricket, Early Bird I also used cuttlebug Birthday Wishes cutting die. I grunged it slightly with some Adirondak acrylic paint in Lake Mist. As usual the photo is not the best the text says "Make a Wish" and "Happy B*day"

Happy 80th Dad

Happy Birthday Dad! Dad loves his garden it's a real gem and a delight to look at. Dad always makes sure that there is plenty for the birds too. It's a simple card but I know that my Dad will love it anyway because I made it for him and I love him all the more for that, thanks Dad xx

Chick Chick Chick Chick Chicken ....

Unfortunately I didn't make a very good job of taking a photo of this card, I managed to chop of the top of the card! There is enough though to give you the general idea :) The story behind the card is that my Bro has very recently bought five chickens something he has always wanted to do and something I never knew about bro! I went to visit them at the weekend and they are just the cutest chickens ever so it was only right he should have chickens on his birthday card.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NEIL

Another new set of stamps from Elusive Images this set is called "Sing your Song" it is a fabulous wee collection. Again I used watercolour pencils to colour the image. The image was then matt and layered on to Basic Grey Granola paper. I quite often find it difficult to make male cards but I think it's turned out ok.

BIRTHDAY CARD FOR FRASER

This is a birthday card for my nephew he is going to be eight years old in a few weeks time. Fraser has taken up Judo so this stamp, another Sugar Nellie Stamp called Karate Kid (Luca) by Evelina was a great find. This time I used my promarker pens to colour the image. The crown and the star embellishments I made from two free stamps from Craft Magazine. I coloured the images then cut them out before using Glossy Accents over the top to give the embelishments some dimension. Once dried I placed a number '8' on the star then used sticky fixers to stick them down. Both backing papers are from Basic Grey Granola.

Paul's Birthday Card

Couldn't think what to do for Paul's birthday card this year I am hopeless at male cards. I had done the usual sport related card with his favourite football team. Paul started a new job in an office at the beginning of the year so I thought that using this fun image from Charmed Cards & Crafts called Office George would perhaps bring a smile when he opened it after a hard day at the office. Have to say Paul should you every read this although your name is on the desk this guy isn't half as handsome as the real thing :)

Happy Birthday Dad!

Dad is a keen Gardner so this digital download from Charmed Cards and Papercraft called George at Work was a great find thanks to Sam and Simply Cards & Papercraft Magazine. I used Dovecraft's Men's Papers and a co-ordinating ribbon, printed Gardiner George and used water colour pencils to colour the picture. I then finished of by adding some flowers and rub on greeting. Hopefully it will make Dad smile!

Happy Birthday To You.

This is the birthday card I made my other half. The paper is from Dovecraft's Masculine Pack. I used a Penny Black stamp called Spring Air. These little hedgehog stamps are so cute I just had to have one. We are lucky enough to have a hedgehog who visits our garden which is why I used this stamp on OH's card, we love to watch the hedgehog as he looks for food. One of the hedgehogs favourite spots to eat is under the bird feeders right outside the window so we get a great view. I was lucky enough to win a prize on Just Bex Forum for a challenge I completed. I have used some of the ribbon, brads and one of the metal heart embellishment which has the word "inspire" which my OH always does. I added a paper flower under the brad in the top left corner to make it look as if the hedgehog is smelling it. I used a black rub on sentiment in the bottom right hand corner of the card but this has not shown up in the photo very well.

Fraser's 7th Birthday

I used a Dovecraft paper from the masculine pack, traced an image of the little dragon on to green fun foam then cut it out. I then drew around the dragon with a black pen and drew on the features. I wound a metal balloon around the tail and tied on a red ribbon . I used fun foam letters I had and then cut out the grass free hand from more fun foam and lastly stuck a number 7 on the balloon.
