MAGICAL CRAFTS CHALLENGE # 18

This is a round board book free with a craft magazine I bought last year I was never inspired to use it as the front cover is mark although it does not show up in the photo I don't like anything to go to waste so I decided it was time to alter it.

I have recently got into digi images but can never remember where I have purchased them from and sometimes I just can't remember the name of the digi so I have created a little note book especially to list the details of any future digis I purchase which I am quite sure will be a fair few!  I have made it into something I can hang on my wall just above my computer so no more excuses for forgetting any digi details!
I used my new stamp called 'Spikey Flower' from Little Claire Designs then printed 'Digis' using large alphabet stamps. I used Copics to colour the image and embellished with pearls, gems and butterfly's before adding some faux stitching around the edge.
I hope you will be inspired by the summer weather and all the gorgeous flowers beginning to bloom in the gardens and parks not forgetting the fabulous inspiration the DT have also created for this challenge.

Beaded Flower

I have had a hankering to try some beading so I bought a book and read how it should be done. I decided to have a practice run I made a stylised flower with my favourite colours green and pink. I made up the design as I went along I know it show's but you have to start somewhere! The centre of the flower is a gorgeous green shell button. The beading is a bit iffy at the start but got a bit better by the time I finished. Rather than waste the practice piece I cut around the circle shape then used some glue around the edge to keep the material from fraying, cut out a round nestability shape and backed the beading on to it. I used some Blonde Moments paper on the front of the note book some green ribbon as a stem and leaves and knotted pink ribbon down the wire. I think I will keep practicing with the beading and see how it goes, once you get going it is really very relaxing not unlike sitting doing some cross stitch.

Altered Note Book

I found a piece of material in John Lewis which was meant for quilting. I loved the colours and although I'm not usually into fairies I liked the fairies used on the material so I bought it. Once I got it home I was not sure what I was going to do with it. I had been sewing beads on another project so decided to use beads on the material and make a little panel. I glued the beads on to the flowers with Glossy Accents. I also used Glossy Accents on some of the flowers and leaves to bring out the colour and give it a bit more luminosity . I used a few beads for the centre of the flowers. I then used Glossy Accents all over the fairy sprinkling some glitter on her wings. To finish the fairy panel I used Glossy Accents again on the cup and bee then added two satin butterfly's. I popped some paper flowers along the bottom of the note book then tied some purple, lilac and white ribbon down the wire to finish. It was a bit difficult to photograph but I think you will get the general idea.

THE SAME BUT DIFFERENT!

I have altered two cheap notebooks as part of a birthday swap. The basic front book pages are the same using Basic Grey Granola paper and a stamp called "talking to the birds" by Leanne Ellis for Sugar Nellie Stamps. This is a new stamp for me it is the first time I have used it. I have finished off the book with Hydrangea flower, beads and assorted ribbons. The ribbons on the rings of the books are where the difference comes in, I ran out of enough thin ribbon to use on the second book so have used wider ribbon on this one.

ALTERED NOTE BOOK

This is my very first attempt at altering a note book. This note book is for a project on one of the Crafting Forums I belong to. I have to say it does look better in real life my photography is not getting any better!
