Is it an Owl or is it a Robin?
This weeks challenge over at Cardmadfairy's Digi Days is Friendship. For my card I have used Jenni's great fun image Xmas Owl. I decided to have some fun with the digi and turn him into a Robin or maybe he is an 'Owlin'! He was coloured with Promarkers with a bit of glitter glue to finish. The background paper is a paper from a free paper pack I can't remember the magazine it came from but it is a Milton & Co Christmas paper stack. I also added some red and green ribbon and printed of my own sentiment finished with some faux stitching.
The DT have some great cards for this challenge well worth a visit to Cardmadfairy to have a look.

Too Early For Christmas
It's time for a new challenge over at CARDMADFAIRY'S DIGI DAYS this time the theme is 'Too Early for Christmas' you can never be too early to start your Christmas cards although if I'm honest I have a habit of starting my Christmas cards at the beginning of December thinking I have loads of time but what with planing Christmas and doing the Christmas shopping it always ends up being such a rush so our new challenge is a great way of getting into the Christmas card mood and making a start. For my card I have chosen to use one of Jenni's new Christmas inspired digi images. The image I used is called 'Building a Snowman' Jenni has some fabulous new images which I am looking forward to trying out so you should see a few more cards on my blog before the end of this challenge.

Cardmadfairys Digi Days - Add Some Flowers
The new challenge over at CARDMADFAIRYS DIGI DAYS this week is "Add Some Flowers" for my own card I used one of Jenni's digis from Cardmadfairy's Card Creations called Birdie. I decided it was time to at least start thinking about cards for Christmas so 'Birdie' turned into a Robin! The digi was printed out on to watercolour paper I used watercolour pencils to colour the robin then cut him out. I have used a paper from Tim Holtz and stamped a greeting in gold ink although the camera has bleached it out a bit. I added a flower before finishing off by inking the edge of the card with brown ink. A very simple card but quite effective.

For this challenge I have managed to make my very first Christmas Card! I just love this image it is by SYLVIE at STITCHY BEAR & I DID IT CREATIONS CRAFTING BOUTIQUE I decided to keep it fairly simple with out adding too much embellishment as I wanted the image to take centre stage. I have embellished the card with three different ribbons from my crafty stash. MAGICAL CRAFTS CHALLENGE # 19
It's time for another challenge over at MAGICAL CRAFTS this fortnight the challenge theme is "Christmas in July" as the name suggests we would like you to create a Christmas card or as we are a multi craft challenge blog a Christmas project a good way to get your Christmas cards/projects started for Christmas 2010.
For this challenge some of the DT have used digi stamps by our two featured artists Stitchy Stamps and Stampin Dragon you can visit STITCHY BEAR STAMPS to purchase any of the digi stamps we have used or why not pop over to have a look what's in store there is some fabulous work there and for one lucky winner you will be able to choose digi stamps as your prize for this challenge.
For my card I chose to use a digi stamp by Stitchy. I decided not to use the traditional Christmas colours. The papers used are from a pack by Memory Box Co called 'dewfrost' I had bought for last years Christmas projects they are a good quality paper and I love the colour palette of this particular pack. I added some sparkle by adding some Star White Rhinestones and a sparkly purple butterfly unfortunately the camera does not pick up the sparkle. The ribbon flower trim and pins are from my crafty stash .
Thank you for visiting my blog I hope you will pop over to Magical Crafts and have a look at what the other DT members have created.
I am entering my card at Incy Winsy #50 Distress it!!

MAGICAL CRAFTS FORTNIGHTLY CHALLENGE # 3
Challenge # 3 over at Magical Crafts Fortnightly Challenge is a sketch layout and a digital image from Digital-Ink Co. I have used a 6 x 6 square white hammered card as my base although it doesn't show up too well in the photo. I printed off one of the fab digi images from Digital-Ink Co. then coloured with Promarkers The background has been coloured using chalks and matted on to green card, I have inked around the edge with gold pen and added some faux stitching. I also added gold pen to the hammer head and saw. The little Santa hat has been glittered with red glitter glue. The holly and candy cane were cut using Sizzex templates then red and gold glitter glue added. The sentiment is a stamp from Papermania. Both strips of paper are from Memorybox Co. "spiceberry collection" To finish I have cut a red, gold and green bulb from a string of Christmas bulbs and added gold faux stitching around the edge of the card. I hope you will pop over to MCFC and have a look at what the rest of DT Team have created, hopefully you will be inspired to join in the challange!
Happy Crafting.

A Card for Christmas Take Two
Sunday, 16 November 2008
A Card for Christmas
More Basic Gray papers from the archaic range called ancient and timeworm. Both ribbons and the wooden tree decoration are from a new company to me called East of India. I came across the East of India range in John Lewis, they only had a few things I'm not sure if they are going to introduce more of this range in time. Unfortunately the flash light is a bit strong and is bouncing of the painted wood. As there is a hole cut in the wood so that the tree decoration can be hung I decided to thread through some Merry Christmas ribbon but I am not so sure it has worked. While I was in John Lewis I had a look for some buttons I can't believe the price they charge for just one button. A plain red button about the size of a ten pence peice not unlike the red button I have used on the card cost £1.50p each! I wish I lived near a market I'm sure they would be a good source of cheap ribbon and buttons.
